Summary of Position 
This is a Temporary full time School Liaison position, commencing as soon as possible to June 30, 2026.  Position hours are 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.    As a School Liaison Worker, you will be responsible for building genuine relationships with students/families and community partners and advocating for those who experience barriers to success in school.
 
Accountabilities

  • Enhance relationships between school and home to meet student needs – including home visits
  • Act as the link between school, home, and community to support student and family wellness
  • Provide support to students who are experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioural dysregulation
  • Enhance connections to Indigenous and/or multicultural communities.
  • Ensure students’ social and emotional needs are met as part of an inclusive school system.
  • Support student learning and success using a strength-based, individualized approach
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of preventative programs and activities for individuals and groups
  • Build relationships and provide necessary connections with partner organizations to help families access needed resources and/or services

Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to a candidate with post-secondary training in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or Sociology.
  • Has the ability to work independently and is self-motivated.
  • Preference will be given to someone with a background in social work, though it is not necessary
  • Equivalent training and experience will be considered
  • The ability to offer life skills, social skills and anger management programming would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract with access to a reliable vehicle

  • Genuinely appreciate working with children and demonstrate patience, show empathy, and help make learning fun.
