Hours: 8 hours/day, 248 days/year

What You'll Do

As a Facility Operator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the school’s physical environment is welcoming, functional, and safe. You’ll work closely with the principal, lead caretaker, and facilities team to plan and carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks and facility improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing HVAC operations and maintenance, including diagnosing and calibrating systems
• Performing daily inspections of the building’s exterior and reporting required repairs
• Completing minor equipment repairs and maintenance on cleaning machinery
• Supporting grounds care, including snow removal, grass cutting, and litter control
• Assisting with setup for school events, particularly in the gymnasium
• Collaborating on long-term planning for building operations and safety

• In possession of a valid driver’s license

Required Qualifications

• Valid Fifth Class Power Engineer’s Certificate
• Demonstrated experience in HVAC and refrigeration system operation and maintenance
• WHMIS Certification
• General carpentry skills are considered an asset
